Although only 7 seconds separated Fergus from second-placed B Westhenry of Weymouth St Pauls, he was almost a minute clear of the third finisher. Fergus is on his way to repeating his success in the Hampshire Cross-country League, in which he claimed the U15 boys' championship for the season. The U13 boys' race produced a win for Bournemouth, whose team consisted of Declan Toth, finishing second in 10:53, Sam Walrond, third in 10:54, and Brendan Kirkton, who was sixth in 11:29. So Bournemouth scored 11 points, well clear of second-placed Mendip, with 27. Mention must also be made of excellent runs by two of our girls. In the U15 girls' race, Daisy Harper Brown came in fourth in a time of 11:26, and in the U13 girls' race Emma Butterworth was fifth, recording 8:56. Congratulations to all - a good day for BAC!
