White Rocks To Convincing Win At Sway
*30/6/08 Sway Five - Ian White equalled the 28:37 course record to take a commanding victory in the Sway Five mile race beating a couple of Handy runners in the process. [ED - sorry!!]

New Forest trio Henry Szwinto, Oli Dodd and Frank Handy set the early pace, but the lean White soon took control. He prevailed on the undulating sections and soon pulled clear on the bends. A strong finished secured a winning margin of over 40 seconds and second ever race victory.

Improving Andy Jennings took ninety seconds from the time he ran last year. Jennings waved past Szwinto and Handy for a third place podium finish to swing under the half hour mark on the difficult route.

Jon Sharkey and Paul Consani saved their best efforts for track 5000m races the previous day, but both breezed through the field in the second half following conservative starts. Sharkey's sixth place finish also helped BAC to an unofficial team win scoring ten points (1st, 3rd, 6th) to New Forest's eleven (2nd, 4th, 5th).

This race provides an excellent and challenging forest run with a superb friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.
