The Fantastic Mr (& Mrs) Fox But that is exactly what Stu Fox did for the BAC cause at Sturminster Newton. Not only that, but a classy time of 73:52 on a sparse undulating course gave him fourth overall and first club scorer. The remaining runners in the top ten were grouped together at five miles, but a powerful show of team running led by Ian White ensured Bournemouth athletes took the next three places. White (5th), Jon Sharkey (6th) and John Broom (7th) were split by less than eighty seconds with the rest of the original group further down the field. The two S. Way's both had reasons to enjoy their morning's efforts. Steve is now firmly on the comeback trail from a frustrating hamstring injury while Simon debuted on the road ducking under his target time of ninety minutes. The team race was a typically close affair between Bournemouth and Poole Runners. Race winner Williard Chinhanhu and George Miller led the way, but the BAC train packed in the runners before PR's third scorer Mike Grist clinched open honours by just two points. In the League competition Robin Copestick's improving form put BAC ahead after four scorers, but the depth from Poole Runners ensured a five-to-score League victory for the Broadstone based club. It was an enjoyable tussle between the county's top two road running clubs and the healthy competition is helping bring the best out of athletes from both clubs. Sturminster Newton Half Marathon, BAC
