Hampshire Cross Country League - Bournemouth Prosper At Prospect Park!

*5/1/09 Hampshire League Match Four - A depleted senior men’s squad kicked the new year off in style taking a fourth win from four in the Hampshire League.

Reading has recently proved a ‘bogey course’ for the squad and with a number of absentees the trend looked set to continue. Ian White (illness) and Jon Sharkey (injury) hadn’t anticipated turning out, but both scored well after cautious starts to ensure this season’s 100% record remained intact.

The squad took packing to the extreme with four scorers within ten seconds. Further up the field Mark Hargreaves finished first overall vet in a close run contest with Paul Bleach.

The Division Two title and an instant return to Division One is all but secure although a win at Salisbury will complete a grand slam of season wins. A score of 160 points proved the club’s best performance since 2004 and was only beaten on the day by Winchester, Aldershot and Basingstoke of Division One.
