BOURNEMOUTH AC ROAD AND DISTANCE RUNNING INFORMATION

After much debate, we measured the training hill at Queens Park! Click here to go back to our main index page.

Thursday Hill Sessions
Personally, I hate the hills sessions and have often wondered what I need in order to run them better. But they do provide a quality workout that helps countless features of running, not least leg strength.

In safe knowledge that these sessions are amongst the most beneficial to undertake, especially in marathon training, we get them done and enjoy the moment we next go past a runner struggling up hill in a race.

Our usual sessions involve a road in Queens Park adjacent to the golf course and we mix up long and short reps with the longer reps flattening out on the final straight.

After much debate the other week I decided to go out and measure it. Point A is the start, point B is the end of the short hill and point C is the end of the long hill.

One re-assuring fact is that the GPS watches tend to be almost accurate despite the tree lined route. But whether you want to know the speed of the reps, total distance run or just reading for interests sake with nothing better to do, here are those elusive distances.

A-B = 312m
A-C = 569m
B-C, I'll leave you to figure that out for yourself.
