*7/7/09 Island Adventure - Bournemouth AC took six of the top eight places to win the Portland Ten road race for the fourth consecutive year.

Stuart Fox eased to victory just five weeks after finishing 11th in Britain’s second biggest marathon at Edinburgh. Rob McTaggart (2nd) and Jon Sharkey (3rd) recovered from British League Athletics exploits the day before and ensured a clean sweep of the podium having endured a hard battle with Poole Runners’ in form veteran Mike Grist.

Ian Habgood (6th), Mark Hargreaves (7th) and Ian White (8th) helped Bournemouth CA to dominate the top ten and claim a sixth Dorset League victory in seven 2009 races. Nick Kenchington was 24th in 66:10.

Janie Chapman was third overall lady while in the battle of the vets, Dave Parsons triumphed over Ian Graham on the back of a consistent run of training that has seen Dave run every day for over three months.

Andy Jennings finished seventh at the off-road Sway Five returning to action after spending much of June focused on moving house and job. Joe Price was 33rd and Will Price 107th.
