Report and results from the Poole 10k

*8/6/09 Clubs share the spoils in County spectacle - Bournemouth AC and Poole Runners enjoyed a close contest at one of the spectacles of the Dorset road racing calendar. Rarely do the two clubs have such strength between them during one race and just as in 2008, the quality did not disappoint.

For Poole Runners, a below par Williard Chinhanhu was still classy enough to take second place behind Winchester's Toby Lambert and George Miller in fourth is now producing a string of solid performances. An inspired run by Rob McTaggart saw Bournemouth AC pack five runners in seven places and 91 seconds in a wonderful demonstration of team running. It meant that while Poole Runners took 4-to-score open honours by just one point, Bournemouth AC claimed a fifth Dorset League victory in six 2009 races.

Further down the field Simon Hunt was first M55 while there were new personal bests for Simon Way, Janie Chapman (first W40) and Mike Cowham. Father and son Rob and Joe Lambeth are usually more at home away from the distance running scene, but ran together for the club finishing in 52:19.
