BOURNEMOUTH AC ROAD AND DISTANCE RUNNING INFORMATION Here is a a report from the Poole 10k. Click here to go back to our main index page.
Poole 10k Competition was high for team berths and there were runners in our C team who had counted in winning A teams throughout 2008. The five-to-score team comfortably won the Dorset League honours, but the open race proved an exciting affair against host club Poole Runners. Race winner Willard Chinhanhu took six points out of first scorer Steve Way while George Miller's excellent run for Poole then took another four points from second scorer Stu Fox. There was work to do further down the field. BAC then packed four runners into eight positions to sneak the team prize by the narrowest of margins. Although out of the scoring team, Ian White beating Mike Grist and Rob Standley beating Martin Lewis provided the two points BAC won by. The four scorers alone wouldn't have won it without them. Fine runs from Andy Jennings and Tony Chutter ensured first B team and 4th overall team. The results mean the club championship for 10k has been shaken up. Click here for the updated table.
