*5/1/09 Christmas 10k - Athletes have been involved in Christmas and New Year racing with a number of events spread across the holiday period.

The Round the Lakes Boxing Day 10k saw Ian Habgood set a new personal best. Making his road running debut for the club, Habgood finished 7th in 33:44. Andy Jennings (21st, 36:22), Ian Graham (78th, 41:45) and Dave Parsons (100th 43:43) also ran.

Andy Jennings also completed the final local race of the year two days later at Somerley House. Over tougher terrain than Round the Lakes, Jennings managed 36:51 for fifth place. Simon Hunt ran 40:10 returning from an injury lay-off while Andrew Gillespie (45:15), Joe Price (46:48) and Will Price (53:30) also completed the course.

Ian Habgood’s gruelling festive schedule took him to Broadstone for the New Year’s Day Quarter Marathon. Breaking clear of his rivals on the Gravel Hill inclines, Habgood claimed second place behind Tonbridge runner Huw Evans. Joe Price won the junior prize in the race while Ian Graham and Dave Parsons also turned out.

The club championship table has been updated from the festive campaign.
