Bournemouth AC News - Winchester 5k & Youth OlympicsHOME Runners, throwers and jumpers making the headlines*26/7/09 Fox rivals Way as club media whore! - Stu Fox's recent exploits have generated Bournemouth AC a fair level of positive media coverage in recent weeks. As Steve Way takes a back seat from the headlines (until a major announcement at the end of August - watch this space), Stu's performances at Portland, Maiden Castle (both Dorset Echo) and in the Winchester City Centre 5k (Hampshire Chronicle, pictured) have all featured in local papers.
Jon Sharkey, seventh, ducked under 16 minutes for the first time clocking 15:56. Jon then finished second at the hilly Tarrant Valley 10k in 34:50, regretting the decision to don racing flats on the off-road and often slippery route. Cherry Sheffrin finished in the top half of the field in 49 minutes taking advantage of the down hill sections to increase her race position. Rob McTaggart has been working hard on his track speed throughout the summer and was rewarded with an 8:55.68 3k personal best. The time ranks him 21st in the South West for 2009 with another BAC athlete, Fergus O'Reilly, in 19th.
