D-Day 10k
*6/6/07 BAC Continue Winning Theme - BAC were once again victorious at the D-Day 10k held in Portsmouth, but this time it was a team honour for the squad rather than an individual race win.

BAC made a welcome return to one of their historic hunting grounds and came home with plenty to celebrate, reports Rob McTaggart.

James Baker (Chichester Runners) was a predictable in a time of 31:56 on a breezy but mild summer’s evening. Exactly a minute behind in 3rd place was BAC’s M45, Mark Hargreaves. Hargreaves was eighteen seconds slower than at the Poole 10km three days earlier, although his tiredness could be excused due to a 4.30am rise for work!

Individually, Rob McTaggart’s exclusion from the Poole 10k proved a blessing in disguise for the twenty-one year old. Tag was 5th man back and was very pleased to scoop £20 for his evenings efforts, a steady 34:02. A slower than usual opening km paid dividends as McTaggart picked off runners at will before enduring a lonely final 5km.

Ian White completed the scoring triumvirate although he was unhappy to run narrowly outside thirty-seven minutes. Without his contribution however, BAC would not have won the team prize which was secured by a tantalising two points from Southampton Running Club.

Club stalwart Ian Graham completed the course on forty-two minutes returning to some faster action having spent two weeks walking the Thames towpath.
