August/September Racing News
*24/9/08 - There have been a number of individual performances to report on in recent weeks from up and down the country and abroad.

Starting across the border in France John Boyes took on the Bolbec Half Marathon in windy conditions. He finished fifth VH2 (M50 in UK money) in a time of 85 minutes. In Bristol Steve Way continued his return to form running 74:13 as he builds up to the New York Marathon in November. Charlotte Penfold (formerly Moore) ran for the South West at the Robin Hood Marathon and completed the course in 84:47.

Those times weren't enough to improved their club championship rankings, but two other runners have etched their name into the Half Marathon list. Paul Consani completed his first ever Half Marathon completing Glasgow in 1:33:52. Closer to home Peter O'Reilly tackled the New Forest Half registering 1:45:44.

Also at New Forest, Andy Jennings took on the full marathon despite a preparation ruined by injury. A sub 2:50 target was within reach until injury struck, but Andy still managed to complete his debut marathon in 3:17.

A trio of podium finishes greeted club athletes in Dorset races. Jon Sharkey took a win in the inaugural Sam Seven in Weymouth, Ian White was second in the Studland Stampede and Ali Barnes finished third in the Ladies only 5k at Poole Park.

Finally in scanning local results from the past month, Pete Russell finished eleventh overall and fifth veteran in the Shillingstone Five.
